This spirit has enabled us to transform and automate the network of UFD, the Naturgy Group’s power distributor, by incorporating equipment, telecommunications, protocols, systems and data analysis to turn our physical network into a digital network that helps us manage the challenges faced by distribution networks going forward.
In order to achieve this, we are carrying out multiple digitalisation projects. For example, we have created a virtual model of our networks which incorporates the use of satellite images, LiDAR technology, photographs from helicopters and BVLOS drones. We have also incorporated the latest technology for digitally managing forest mass. This provides us with greater control of risks and we have included sensors in the network to be able to locate issues external to our lines.
